Presentation: Paul and Elder Critical and Creative Thinking Framework
This professional development session introduces teachers to the Paul and Elder critical thinking framework, developed by Richard Paul and Linda Elder, and explores its practical application in classroom practice. Teachers will examine the elements of reasoning and intellectual standards to support students in analysing information, evaluating arguments, and making reasoned judgments across learning areas. The session also highlights the close relationship between critical and creative thinking, showing how disciplined questioning and clarity of thought can strengthen idea generation, problem-solving, and innovation. Teachers will leave with strategies for explicitly teaching, modelling, and assessing both critical and creative thinking in everyday lessons.
